Build a Model College and Career Readiness System with Data-Driven Individual Graduation Plans (IGPs) – (1-2 Full Day Sessions): School Counselors and Career Specialists will learn a systematic process to build data-driven IGPs that help students, parents, and educators make informed education, college, and career related decisions. Counselors will learn how create templates, processes, and policies that save time while providing a high quality, consistent IGP experience for ALL students and parents. This workshop is designed for the Professional School Counselor who wants to be at the top of their game personally and professionally. In this session, School Counselors will learn about and actively engage in practices to help themselves recharge and reconnect with their joy and passion for School Counseling. Hack your Office before it Hacks You! – (60-90 Minutes):
Your School Counselors spend a lot of time time in their offices, why not be very intentional about the environment that they are creating for themselves, students, parents and other visitors? This session will help School Counselors to conduct an audit of their office space to determine how their office space might be helping or hindering their practice as a Professional School Counselor. This session will provide a step-by-step process and tools for auditing the School Counselor’s office space including templates and resources to enhance the School Counseling Office environment for Counselors, students, parents and other visitors.
Level Up Your School Counseling Program Using the ASCA National Model (Full Day Launch or Half-Day Overview):
This workshop helps School Counselors design and deliver comprehensive school counseling programs that promote student achievement. School Counseling programs based on the ASCA National Model are driven by student data and based on standards in academic, career and personal/social development, promote and enhance the learning process for all students. With the expertise of the Dr. DiNicola to assist you, your school or district will learn how to implement a school counseling program that is aligned with the ASCA National Model. The model allows school counselors to work from an orientation that gives organization and structure to their work and links it directly to the mission of the school and district. This workshop incorporates the utilization of apps, calendaring, technology, and gaming to take your School Counseling Program to a new level.
Solution Focused Brief Counseling and Teacher/Parent Consultation (60-90 minute mini-workshop or Half Day):
This experiential workshop is designed for school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, teachers, and school administrators who want to learn an innovative approach to empower their students to better recognize and utilize their strengths. This model uses a systematic approach in which students/parents focus on solutions rather than problems. Solutions are derived by the students/parents themselves and therefore not only are they more involved in their success, but the solutions fit their unique lifestyles. Since the emphasis of this counseling technique is on solutions rather than problems, counseling (and conferences) becomes brief.
